LEAH SHAFER (Medical Aesthetician & Owner)

Skin care is personal to me

Embarrassing cystic acne caused me to become incredibly insecure as a teenager. I was on such a mission to clear my own skin that I spent my weekly allowance on the Victoria Principal skin products I saw on TV. My skin was such a science project to me that I memorized every ingredient. Occasionally, I would ditch high school to swim in the ocean because the salt water seemed to dry out and heal my skin.

About Leah Shafer

FROM PERSONAL TO PROFESSIONAL
I was so fascinated by what the beauty industry could do to improve a woman’s looks that I became a makeup artist working at the age of 19 for such major brands as MAC COSMETICS, LANCOME, BOBBY BROWN, PRESCRIPTIVES, and STILA. By 23, I was a skincare consultant for Georgette Klinger Salons in Beverly Hills and Newport Beach, California. I loved seeing the smiles on my clients’ faces when their skin problems could be healed and made beautiful. I loved educating them for continued at home use.

WHO SHOULD CARE ABOUT THEIR SKIN?
Our skin is so affected by climate, stress, altitude, and lifestyle that I believe every woman, man, and teenager should find a medical grade TRUSTED skin care specialist who can guide you to achieve the skin care results you desire.

OTHER PROFESSIONAL REASONS
As some of you know, I’ve also had a parallel career as a professional singer. Lots of network TV appearances (where the HD cameras zoom in for extreme close-ups) and the NFL National Anthem gigs (with their 150 foot wide JumboTron screens) constantly reminded me that any skin imperfection was magnified and broadcast. Taking care of my skin was as important to me as practicing my vocal scales, because I knew if my skin looked good, my best performance would follow.

SKINCARE IS CONSTANTLY EVOLVING
As we age, our skin loses elasticity and clarity. We need constant cell turnover to stimulate strong cell reproduction. So, your products and treatments need to change too. Fortunately, the science of skincare is creating some exciting innovations we’ve never had access to before. Even if you weren’t genetically blessed with good skin, you will be delighted by what a sensible skin care regimen and professional treatments can do for you.
